Given

Privacy policy

Your baby-name picks stay on your device by default.

This policy applies to the Given mobile app and the website at given.love.

Last updated April 25, 2026.

Short version

Given is built to work without an account, without ads, and without analytics trackers. We do not send your name ratings, notes, or shortlist history to our servers by default.

Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@given.love.

Who we are

Given is published by djntrading, LLC. This policy is meant to describe what data we handle for the Given app and for given.love.

Data stored by the app

Given stores app data on your device so the app can remember your progress.

  • Name ratings and shortlist progress
  • Notes you add in the app
  • Preferences such as filters, sort settings, and local app state
  • Manual backup files only when you choose to export them

Data handled by the website

given.love is a simple public website. We do not run analytics scripts, advertising tags, or tracking cookies on the site.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process basic technical request data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs in order to serve the site, keep it secure, and troubleshoot abuse or outages.

What we do not do

  • No user accounts
  • No third-party analytics or ad trackers in the app by default
  • No sale of personal information
  • No cloud sync or server-side storage of your app data by default

Sharing

We do not share your in-app ratings, notes, or shortlist data with third parties by default because that data stays on your device unless you choose to export a backup file yourself.

If you contact us directly, we will receive the information you include in your message. If you download or purchase the app through Apple or Google, those platform providers may also process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, or replace it by restoring a backup. Exported backup files remain wherever you save them until you delete them.

Email or support messages may be kept for as long as needed to respond, keep basic business records, or resolve abuse and security issues.

Security

We try to reduce risk by collecting as little data as possible. The website is served over HTTPS, and the app is designed so core personal app data stays on your device by default instead of being stored in a central account system.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
